Appointment Of New Senior Coach - Darryl Brown
20/04/2011

HCCC

Hello Members,

Since Trent informed the club of his intention to step down, with his assistance, we have interviewed several candidates to take on the role of Captain/Coach for next summer and it is with great pleasure that the Hoppers Crossing Cricket Club announces the appointment of former West Indian International player Darryl Brown to lead the club forward into what will be a very big step up for us into Senior Division in the VTCA.

For many years now the club has aspired to compete at the top level of cricket within the VTCA, and to compete successfully we require players and leaders of the quality of Darryl to develop our players to be ready for the challenges that await us.

We certainly don’t want to be there to make up the numbers, we aim to be competitive from the outset and aim to play finals immediately.

Darryl Brown - HCCC Captain/Coach

Darryl is an extremely experienced and highly credentialed player and coach, having successful leadership stints at both Keilor and Airport West Cricket Clubs culminating in Premierships at both clubs.

Darryl is an inspirational leader who will lead from the front and has the strong attribute of inspiring his players to follow him. He has a proven track record of developing young players which will be invaluable with the young talent we have around the club. Darryl is really keen to get to work immediately in his preparation for the forthcoming season and is looking forward to catching up with the playing group as soon as an opportunity can be arranged.

I am sure you all join me in congratulating Darryl on his appointment and I’m sure you will all give Darryl every assistance as we move forward and head into the new season.

It is a massive coup for our club to be able to attract someone with the profile and undoubted ability of Darryl and it shows how far forward our club has progressed that players of his standing are attracted to join us.

Regards,
